– before you book or contact your travel agent lets make sure you are able to travel
*If flying domestically – within the US – all you really need is a RealID for those over 18
If you do not have a RealID look into TSA ConfirmID Check
*Traveling Internationally – you and all parties no matter their age will need a valid passport
AND depending on your destination will determine how long your passport has be valid, in order to travel
*Most destinations require your passport to be valid minimum of 6 months beyond travel dates – some require more PLUS – do you need a visa?
*Some destinations require some form of Electronic “Visa” that needs to be completed before you travel
For Cruises

If cruise starts and ends at same US port you can technically use a birth certificate BUT if you get stuck at a port or something happens and you need to fly home you will have issues without a passport

When cruising with a minor, you generally need a valid passport or birth certificate, proof of parentage, and notarized consent if one or both parents are not traveling.
A passport is the best investment for anyone who wants to travel – and always get the passport book. Too many get the less expensive option of the passport card but that only works if driving to Mexico or Canada – flying and cruising needs the passport book
